HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 3

We took the kids to go see HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 3 tonight. We couldn't go lastnight because Zach had his last football game which they lost... poor kid. He told me that he was sick of loosing. We'll see what we can do about that next season...
So, I don't know who was more excited for this movie, me or the kids? I know I am a dork, but I LOVED it! The soundtrack came out on Tues. so we have been listening to it all week long! Brinley (and me) had to wait ALL day to go see it tonight cuz Zach had baseball games in Salem today. I actually stayed home cuz it was Super Saturday in our ward and I didn't want to bring home a million "unfinished" projects... cuz you know what happens to them (they never get finished). We made some really cute things which I still need to do some finishing touches on!
So, back to the movie, I couldn't believe how many ADULTS were there! Maybe it was the time we chose, we didn't go until 8:00, but still. Oh, and I think the whole Lehi High School Cheer team was there too! Anyway, Brinley and I loved it, and Morgan and Zach thought some parts were cheesy. (I was just impressed Morgan agreed to go with us!) I figured with the other 2 we sat there in our living room and watched them together, why not go to the movie theater together? And Boston fell asleep! He loved the basketball part at the first. He kept saying "that's cool".
Anyway, I think I am a little too excited about this movie... it must be late! :o)

WHAT???

It is 10:30 the night before my dad and brothers surgery and we got a phone call about 2 hours ago saying that the surgery had been cancelled!!! WHAT??? They could have called at least 2 days, or a day before, but just hours before??? I guess the anesthesiologist was looking over my dads charts tonight and didn't realize that he had 2 stints put in his heart last Dec. The regulation is that it has to be at least a year before they can do the transplant or any other type of surgery. Well, thats sure nice to find out the night before. Why didn't anyone know about this sooner? So, needless to say this transplant isn't going to take place for a couple of more months... My dad was so excited to be going to his LAST dialysis treatment today... poor guy!
Oh, and then they told him yesterday that he needed to loose 10 more pounds, well that would have been nice to know more than the day before the surgery also.
So, my sis-n-law was on her way down from Idaho Falls tonight and was in Brigham City when Matt called her to tell her the news. She just kept on driving and he packed his bags back up and they headed back tonight so she didn't have to take work off tomorrow.
We only talked to my parents for a little bit tonight, and they were pretty disappointed... I guess one good thing about it is that they found out tonight, and not in the morning during the surgery. They said his chances of having a heart attack DURING the surgery were pretty high.
Talk about a change of plans! So, I will keep you updated on when the surgery will be rescheduled for...
Goodnight.

Idaho Falls

Saturday morning we woke up and drove to Idaho Falls to go see my nephew Austin play football. He is in the 7th grade and they were playing in the championship game! They won 13-7! It was a good game, and it was so fun to see him play! The kids had a great time together! We figured out that it had been 6 years since we had been to their house... needless to say we lived in Phoenix for 4 of those years! He also had 2 basketball games that night too, so I guess we didn't really have a weekend without sports, just without Zach playing! It was fun for him to watch his cousin play!
We stayed the night and came home on Sunday, it was a quick trip, but always fun to go see family!

The Mariott

The kids were out of school this last week on Thurs. and Fri. and we actually had a weekend where Zach didn't have any games! I know it's a miracle, but his football team didn't make it to the playoffs, and his baseball team ended up not playing in the tournament they were going to play in. So, Thursday we spent the day at home getting things done. Morgan had to scrape his truck windows 3 days last week, and decided it was time to clean the garage out and put the bikes up on the racks so he could park in the garage again! I don't know why it makes him so happy to park in the garage...
So, on Friday we decided to take the kids and stay in a Motel. I don't know what it is about kids and motels, but they love them! Even if it is only in Provo! We left early on Friday and took the kids roller skating. They have never been before, and they loved it! ( I left my camera in the car) It was more of a workout than Morgan and I bargained for, but it was fun! We all had a few falls (except Morgan) and I'm just glad I didn't kill myself! We went to lunch and took the kids to a movie and finally checked into the motel around 7:00. Poor Boston had been waiting all day, because all he wanted to do was go swimming!
As soon as Morgan checked in and brought out the cart to put our bags on, the kids jumped right on, I don't know why they think those things are to ride on (maybe from The Suite Life) they are so funny!
We had our friends come swimming with us, and the kids had a ball! They thought we had rented out the pool just for them, because we were the only ones there!

Tired boy!

This is Boston about 5:00 everyday! He doesn't take naps anymore, but just can't seem to make it through the day!

The BOYS!

Last Friday night after football practice Morgan and Zach came home and were throwing the ball around in the front yard, well Boston wanted to join them so I had to get him all bundled up cuz it was freezing outside! They all had on their BYU beanies that they got at one of last years games. Boston has fun playing ball with the boys, and actually has quite the little arm on him! He will go around the house just throwing the football up in the air and catching it, seeing how many times he can do it in a row without dropping it!

This is Zach trying to dive and tackle Boston! Good thing he missed! :o)
He actually caught air on the grass! OUCH!

My Dad is getting a Kidney Transplant

I love this picture of my Dad. It is totally him at the ball park. Baseball hat, sunglasses, clipboard in hand, and last but not least, the toothpick! My dad hasn't spent as many days as he would have liked at the ballpark this last year because of his health.
Some of you may know that he has been on Dialysis this last year, and it has really been hard on him. He has lost over 100 pds to get ready for this transplant!!! The surgery is scheduled for Friday October 24th. My brother Matt who lives in Idaho Falls has been tested and is a match to be the donor for my Dad! They will both be coming down here next week for their final appt. on Wed. and will both be in the hospital recovering for 6-7 days. We will be having lots of family staying with us during this time. We have been talking about it for so long, that I can't actually believe the time is here!
Dad, I want you to know I am proud of you for sticking with "the plan" and loosing all your weight and all the many other things you have had to do to get yourself ready for this! Good Luck, I hope everything goes great, so you can be back where you want to be... on the BALLFIELD!

BYU game!

My sister took Zach to the BYU game on Sat. He had his last football game of the season, and was able to go cuz the game wasn't until 4:00. He hasn't been able to go to one all year! The weather was crappy, it was freezing cold, but they had alot of fun! Just one little perk on going to the game with your aunt... she has been dating a guy on the team, so they got to go down by the locker room where the players come out when they are done. Zach was on cloud 9! He had his football and sharpie ready, and got a ton of signatures! They were all so nice to him! Morgan ended up going with a friend from work, and his boys, so they went down there too. It was so fun for the boys to see these players in "real life"! Zach just couldn't believe how "big" they were! He was amazed at their stature! Thanks so much for taking him to the game Sonn! He loved it! And it made it even more special cuz he was with you!

Sonnet and Zach on the 18th row! Morgan was pretty jealous! He said he had a good view of the "Y" on the mountain! :o)

Brinley- a Pionette for a day!

Last weekend Brinley got to perform at halftime of the Lehi High football game with the Pionettes! She was so excited! She got to dance with her friend Shaylee, and they both thought they were superstars! My brother Rhett and his family were in town, so they got to come and see her! It was alot of fun to have them there!
Thanks Jess for helping me with her hair! It turned out beautiful!

sUrPrIsE!!!

As many of you know I threw a SURPRISE party for Zach the night of his birthday! It was so much fun! I was just dying of excitement, especially as soon as the boys started showing up at our house! I was pleased that no one spilled the beans to Zach! He had NO IDEA! I decided to have his "Tigers" buddies over. He hasn't been playing Fall ball because of Football, and he really has missed these boys! They are a great group of kids, and Zach has really made some good friends on the team. I think we are all together so much that we just kinda feel like family!
So.... Morgan came home from work early to take Zach "out" so I could get ready for the party. He had gotten Madden for his birthday, so of course as soon as he got home from school he wanted to play it with his dad. Well, that was o.k. for a minute, but I really needed them gone, so an hour later when they are still playing, I said to Morgan "Don't you guy's have somewhere to go?" (hint, hint) As soon as they left I told Brinley and Boston what we were doing, and they were so excited! So, we got all the decorations and food out and started getting ready. As soon as the boys started coming, you could just feel the excitement! Surprises are so much fun! I really thought this would boost Zach's spirits up after being sick for so long, and going without seeing any of his friends! The boys were a little crazy while we were waiting for Zach to get there, I had 2 boys on lookout duty out the front window, and all I cared about was that everyone was QUIET when he walked in so that he wouldn't know anyone was there. We even hid the shoes in the other room! As soon as everyone yelled Surprise and they came out, Zach was just in shock, he had a permagrin on and just kept looking at everyone, like "What are you doing here?"
The boys had alot of fun, I only planned one game, and the rest of the time they just wanted to hang out. They got a game of football going while Morgan went to pick up the pizza, and I was wishing I went to pick up the pizza! I had no idea that we were going to need a referee! The played ping pong, the Wii, and had a mean game of Nerf tag going on all around the house! It was so much fun to have everyone here, thanks guys for all the awesome presents! Zach was in Hog Heaven with all of his cards! :o) You knew him well!

10.02.2008

HaPpY bIrThDaY zAcH!

Yes, we have already opened presents this morning! You would have thought it was Christmas, Zach woke up at 6, and came down at 6:30 and I was already making him his favorite breakfast, Puff pancakes with Candy syrup! Yummy! He was so cute, he kept trying to wake up the kids so he could open his presents! We already sang to him, and I am going to pick him up from school to take him to lunch! He already has a trip planned with his dad to the card shop with some cash to spend... So, should be a good day! :o)

My sweet little boy turned 10 today! I guess that means he is growing up!? He told me he was in the "double digits" now! He was pretty excited about that! I just love this kid! Zach is always so happy, I swear he was born smiling! I feel like he was born to be a leader, or maybe that just comes with being the oldest... whatever it is he is a great example to everyone around him! I just want him to know how lucky we are to have him in our family!

I saw this on my friends blog, and thought it was a way cute idea...

Is it really October?

K- so today I was out running errands and realized that it is October and I am still using my air conditioning! That my friends is a wonderful thing! :o) In fact, in my car it said it was 78 degrees! The weather has been so nice for all of Zach's football games, actually probably too hot to play football in (poor kids), but I LOOOOOOOOVE it! It's definitely not football weather, but I will take all the sunshine I can get! Last year, I remember snowstorms, and it being BITTER cold outside at this time! (And yes, I was still wearing flip flops) For those of you who know me well, know that I wear flip flops rain, snow, or shine! They are part of my wardrobe all year long! So, yes, I am missing the weather in Phoenix a little, and just thought I would share with you my happiness of the Sun right now!

Random pics and other stuff!

So, it has been awhile since I have posted... we made it through another week of Zach being sick, and I can finally say that I think he is getting better! I am so glad that is all behind us now, and we can keep moving forward! He still is trying to get his appetite back, and is really loving fresh fruit right now, he still can't eat alot of "heavy" stuff! He is going to go back to school tomorrow and hopefully that goes well. He has been doing his homework at home, so hopefully he isn't too far behind! He is excited to go back and see all of his friends! Brinley is excited for him to be back at school with her, and Boston is sad that he won't be here for him to play with! They really have been buddies the last couple of weeks! Boston loves having him around!

Zach missed his game again on Sat. I think this time he really wished he was out there playing, but he was a good sport and had his jersey on standing on the sidelines with his teammates cheering them on! He will be excited to get the pads back on and start hitting, but I think he may have to take it slow!!!
So, I have some random pictures from the last couple of weeks that I thought I would share... :)

My cute kids!

BOSTON!

This was Zach's face when we found out he had mono, and asked him who he had been kissing!? It was hilarious!

Boston being a monkey at gymnastics!

Brinley and Boston playing "Go fish" together!

The other night I had set out some bread dough to make scones with after dinner. Well, we ended up eating late, and never made them. Well, I fell asleep when I was laying down with the kids, and by the time I crawled into bed I had entirely forgotten about it... until the next morning when I walked into my kitchen, and this is what I found! the kids thought it was pretty funny! So, I still used the dough, and we had scones for breakfast instead! Yummy!

I envy those of you who can keep a plant alive! I have the hardest time! I had gotten this Gardenia at Costco a few months ago, and was so excited to keep this little plant alive! Sounds pretty easy right? Well, I think I may have forgotten to water it a few times... If any of you have a "green thumb" you would like to lend me it would be appreciated! :o)

Boston and Zach spending some "quality" time together watching a movie! They had made a little blanket bed in their room together! Boston fell right asleep!

Last week, Brinley had to make a little doll that looked like her for a school project. We whipped this thing up in about an hour, and she was so excited! It was her first "real" project for school, and she has so much fun! Her teacher is making a book of all the students. Her teacher is great, and always is doing fun things for the kids!

This is Zach at the hospital getting his blood taken. It was his first time ever having this done! I know I am weird, but I always have my camera in my purse, and have to take a picture of EVERYTHING! I'm sure the nurse thought I was a little nutso! Oh, well!

9.16.2008

And the Results are...

So, the doctor called tonight, of course while we were gone to Brinley's soccer game... he left a message and I called him right back when we got home. I was so nervous, and I actually ended up talking to the nurse cuz it was like 7:30 when I called back. She took a minute to get around to what she was trying to say, and I was like "C'mon spit it out"! So.... his White and Red Blood Cell count is normal and looks good, so that I was relieved about! She said his Mono test came back "positive" but is not "active". She explained it to us, and basically Zach has had mono before (once they have had mono, it will always show up in their system) but he currently does NOT have it! I couldn't believe when she said he has had it before!!!!! So, my kid has had mono and we didn't even know it at the time! How crazy is that? We keep trying to think back when it could have been...
So, the different antibiotic seems to be doing much better, except that he is still breaking out in this rash. She said if he still has it in the morning we are going to have to try something rather than Benadryl. So, if we can get rid of this yucky cough he has still, and figure out where this rash is coming from we may be on a road to recovery! We were so relieved to hear that he doesn't have mono right now, that just meant it would be a LONG time until he was feeling better! I think he is anxious to get back to school and all the other things he was doing in his life before this happened! It has made us realize that we take for granted when our bodies are healthy and all the things we are able to do everyday! I am so glad that he is going to be o.k. and that nothing seriously was wrong with him!
I just had to post this picture of Zach, it captures his personality perfect! He is always happy, no matter where he is! You can spot his smile a million miles away! :o)

So Proud of Myself!!!

I'm so proud of myself!!! I finally figured out how to take my email address off where it says "posted by". It was driving me crazy! And every time I would comment on someone's blog it would say from "my email address". I thought it was so lame, and had asked my "experienced" blogging friends if they knew how to get it off. Finally after messing around with it for so long, I finally did it... ALL by MYSELF!!!

Zach...

So, today is Monday and we were thinking that Zach would finally be able to go back to school this week. But we could tell last night he was not ready to, he just still was not back to "himself". Well, this morning after he woke up he was complaining of his feet itching, and then his legs, and then he was itching all over! He had this funky rash all over his body! I was on the phone with the nurse at the time and she said that his doctor would need to look at it. They were good to get us in right then, But Zach was going crazy itching all over. While we were there I expressed my concerns to his doctor about him not feeling better yet, and being so tired. He thought the rash was due to the antibiotic he had been on, and said he was going to change his prescription. I asked him if they could run some blood tests on him, to see if there was something else that was making him feel so crappy. I actually wondered if he might have mono because of all the symptoms he has had. He said he would run a test just to make sure. I guess you can call it "Mothers Intuition". But I know my child, and we have had strept many times at our house, and this is by far the worst he has ever been. The doctor thought it was a good idea, so he sent us over to A.F. hospital to get the Lab work done. Zach was a little nervous that we had to go to the hospital. I assured him it wasn't going to hurt, and when we left the doctors office and got in the car he asked if we could say a prayer! What a good guy I have! He is so sweet, I just love him! Of course I got all teared up just praying that nothing serious is wrong with him. So, here we wait for a couple of days to hear back from the doctor. And I'm afraid it's going to be a LONG couple of days! He said, "No school, No football, until we get the tests back" just to make sure. It's just so hard having him not feel good, he's just not the same Zach that we all know. In fact he is sleeping right now, and has been for over an hour. It's just not like him.

9.11.2008

September 11th?

Okay, so I feel like an idiot!!! When I went to pick up Brinley from school this afternoon, I noticed that everyone had their flags out. I thought to myself "What holiday is in Sept.?" I couldn't think of one, so I kept driving. As we drove up Main Street there were MORE flags! I was racking my brain and just could not figure out why all these people had their flags out. I even asked Brinley if they talked about the flag today at school, and she said Yes, but couldn't tell me why! So, finally after it was driving me crazy, I called my cute friend Dee Dee, and asked her why. She was so nice, and didn't laugh at me, but simply told me that it was September 11th today! I felt SO stupid! Okay, so I have kinda been out of the loop with Zach being sick this week, and all. I haven't been signing off homework, and all that good stuff! But as soon as we got home, I went straight to the closet to get out the flag to hang so I could look like everyone else! I was just so happy to find out why! Ha Ha!

So, I took Zach to the doctor tonight. He started running a fever again about 5:00. I was like "This is it, we are going to find out what is wrong with him!" So, they decided to run another strept test on him, which I thought they were crazy, but guess what? This time it was POSITIVE!!! I about died! I was just so happy that they finally could tell us what was wrong! We were both relieved when we left the office! So, now he is on antibiotics and should be feeling better soon! Morgan thinks he's going to be playing football on Sat. but we'll see!

Going on Day 5!

So... Zach is still not feeling good, and has almost missed a whole week of school and football! He is going crazy, and so am I! I feel so bad for him, and want to help him in any way I can! Last night about 5:00 he started running a really high fever again, which I thought "What the crap, how can he have a fever for so long?" The poor kid has been on ibuprofen for the last five days faithfully every 4-5 hours. He has no appetite because his throat hurts so bad, and the only thing that sounds good to him is a slushie. So, we have been on a slushie run every day! I told him I'm going to miss it when he's back in school-going on slushie runs! Because you know when he gets a slushie, I get my Diet Coke! :) I'm sure he thinks, mom, is this what you do all day when I am at school? He has been able to spend some time with Boston which has been good, he is so good to play with him, and they have watched plenty of movies together. They are playing "Go Fish" right now. They are so cute! On Tuesday I went to rent them a movie and thought, heck if I'm going to get them a movie, I may as well get me one too! I felt too guilty when I got home and put theirs on, to sit my fat butt down and watch mine in the middle of the day! So, I did some laundry and a little cleaning instead and decided I would watch it that night after they went to sleep. Well, that was all great, but Morgan was working on Zach's Pinewood Derby car and was in the kitchen using his drill, and who knows what else that I had to turn up my movie SO loud to even hear it!
I feel like I have been so worried about Zach and how I can help him, that I didn't stop to think what would really help him. Last night, after Morgan came home from work and saw how bad he really was, He said to me "I think Zach needs a blessing". I about started crying because I hadn't thought of it myself! So, he asked our neighbor to come over and help give him a blessing. I got so emotional during it, I just hope and pray that he doesn't have something wrong with him. I probably worry too much, but he has never been this sick in his entire life! He is just so active and such a happy kid, that it is hard to see him just laying down and not feeling good. He always is the one to lift somebody's spirit in our house, if they are feeling down. And now this week, it has been all of us trying to lift his. It just makes me so grateful to have him in our family, I don't know what we would do without him! So, here's to you Zach, I hope you have a better day today, and that you can get feeling better. We love you!

My BOYS!

Over the weekend Zach started not feeling good. Yesterday he woke up with a fever, so we stayed home from church. Morgan got to go to Stake Conference by himself! He couldn't have picked a better day to get sick, when we were younger Stake Conference meant you got a day off of church, I guess my mom knew better than to deal with us kids in 2 hours of sacrament meeting! Ha Ha! So, this morning when Zach woke up, he was burning up, I took him into the doctor and he had a temperature of 103! They ran a strept test on him and it was negative! His doctor said there is a bad virus going around that lasts 4-5 days! YUCK! He hasn't been eating cuz his throat hurts too bad. The only thing he wanted today was a slushie! The kid seriously was down all day today and watched ESPN until he finally fell asleep this afternoon. Boston was so excited he was finally going to have someone home with him and couldn't figure out why Zach didn't want to play with him. We have to give him a breathing treatment 3-4 times a day to help loosen everything up. He's hoping to feel better soon so he doesn't have to miss any football, but the doctor's order's were NO football until his fever is gone!

Boston thought he needed to try it to!

The other day we were going through the dress up box and Boston found these old dancing shoes of Brinley's. He wanted to wear them, and hasn't taken them off since! He even wore them today when we had to go run errands! I didn't care, if it makes him happy that 's great! It drives Morgan crazy that he wears them around everywhere, but I think it is cute!

Here is Zach's arm after a couple of days!
