CuTe LiTtLe FaCe!
This morning after the kids left for school, I went in to check on Boston and found him like this in bed! He loves to get under the covers after he drinks his sippy cuz he is so cold! Well, he fell back asleep and twisted in the covers just enough to make a little hole for his cute little face! I couldn't resist taking a picture! I can't resist taking a picture of anything though! So cute!
Bostons first day of GyMnAsTiCs!
Yesterday was Boston's first day of Gymnastics!!! He was so excited, we had been telling him that when the kids started school that he would get to start! He is taking it with his little friend Brady, and they are SO cute! They were both so excited, and it was so cute to see them stretching and warming up! Zach had tried telling Boston that he had to wear a leotard if he was going to take gymnastics, So Boston thought he didn't want to take anymore! I don't know why Zach was trying to tease him, because Zach took Gymnastics up until age 4! I explained this to Boston and told him that he could wear basketball shorts to class. But, all he kept thinking about was the leotard! So, I went through the picture albums and found pictures of Zach at Gymnastics when he was Boston's age, and guess what he was wearing? Yup, basketball shorts! Boston felt alot better after that! :) So, we get to class and there are 7 little boys including Boston and Brady! And 2 little girls! We were thrilled! Boston is so excited to have something that is just for "him". We tote him around to all of Zach and Brinley's things, now it is time for him to be the star!

Z's first (real) football game! :o)
So, Zach's first game was on Sat. in Draper. They played at Jaun Diego High School on their nice turf field! It was like they were pros! Zach had so much fun, and played an awesome game! He scored their first touchdown! He was pretty pumped, but they didn't come out winning, the final was 28-14. During the game, I just kept looking at Zach and couldn't really believe that was my son down there playing! It was like it was a dream! My little boy isn't so little when he's in his football gear! (Which he LOVES!) I think he just likes to look tough! :) He looks so stinkin cute though! Almost as cute as his dad did, back in the day!
Zach played a tough game, he only came out for one play, so he was exhausted by the end of the game! There is a guy that comes and films the games, and puts them on DVD for each one of the kids, it ends up being like $6 per kid per game. So, it's worth it! The camera is up on a tower looking down on the field, so it looks like the NFL games! I was excited, cuz I'm going to miss his game this Saturday. I will be going to my cousins funeral in St. George. So, when I get back I can have a play by play action from Morgan and Zach while I'm watching it at home! This way I won't miss anything because I was talking, or taking care of the kids, or whatever it is that i do during his games! :) There was also a guy there taking pictures of the kids during the game, with a SWEET camera! I swear the lens on that thing was 3 ft. long! So, we got on the website last night, and there are some awesome pictures of Zach! Pictures that I could have never got with my camera. I was so worried about getting pictures during the game, that I felt like I couldn't even watch. And I didn't even get that great of ones. Morgan will have to get out his pocketbook for those though! Anyway, we had a really fun day, it was SO hot and the kids kept wanting to sit under the stairs where there was a little bit of shade, but I wasn't complaining. I LOVE the heat! Come here in a couple of months, we're not even going to be able to feel our fingers and toes! Now, who wants that? Not me!
I posted a few pictures of the rest of the afternoon. We just came home, and HUNG OUT! It was so nice! I feel like the kids have been gone so much since school started! Brinley wasn't feeling good, so she layed down for a couple of hours, the boys just played, Morgan slept, and I cleaned! It was so nice!

Boston and Porter!

Brin and Bos trying to stay cool under some shade!

Zach running! (He's the one with his helmet off)

Zach kicking the ball! What? My son's a kicker?

Zach after the game...not very happy!

We survived the first week of school!
Wahoo! We survived the first week of school! And I am exhausted! This whole getting up early thing isn't for me... well, if I would learn to go to bed at night, it may be a little easier! O.K. there were only 2 days that I crawled back into bed with Boston after Morgan took the kids to school, but hey why not take advantage right? Boston is a whole different kid when he is not around his brother and sister. It has been so fun to be with him and have his own little personality show. He is in the stage where everything ends with a "why, mom"? And is so inquisitive about everything! Tuesday morning he woke up and went walking around the house, and came to me and said "Where's the kids"? He wasn't used to them being gone. Today they forgot their lunches, so we ran to the school to take them to them, and he was so excited! He loves going to the school.
I have to say I think we are all ready for the weekend, I love not having the stress of getting the kids to bed at a certain time, but they were all exhausted tonight and were asleep by 10:00 anyway!
I'm not looking forward to all the homework Zach is going to have this year! Already for the first week, they had a ton! And his Math homework is way over my head, so the poor kid is trying to teach me! Math isn't my favorite subject, the only reason I passed the class I took at Dixie was because Morgan's football coach was my teacher! He would let me take my tests at home so Morgan could help me with them! He knew me too well! So, needless to say, Zach has to wait until his dad gets home for help with his math! I'm sure it is frustrating for him! Sorry bud!
The kids really seem to like their teachers, and I think Brinley's favorite part about school is eating lunch there! Zach got to wear his football jersey to school today (just like they do in High School) before their game day! He thought that was pretty fun to see all the other kids in theirs too!
Well, I couldn't sleep last night, I kept thinking about my cousin and her family. So, I am actually really tired!
I think I'm going to call it a night, so I will be rested for the big game tomorrow! Go Zach! #33 :)

A bItTeRsWeEt DaY!
So, the kids went back to school yesterday! WOW I can hardly believe that Zach started 4th grade and my little girl is a big first grader! The kids did really well, and had a great first day! It was so fun to hear all of their stories! I first asked Brinley if she thought the day was long or short? She said it was LONG and that she was starving even before it was lunch time! (Poor girl) I went to the school at lunch time to see how things were going, and her and Zach found out they have lunch at the same time! Brinley was pretty excited and said she would save Zach a seat today... we'll see how that goes! Both the kids said that their teachers were "clean". I just laughed and asked them what that meant? They said that they have to clean up after EVERY time they do something! Zach just kept saying that his teacher was mean in a nice way... so pretty much she set some rules to follow on the first day, and wants to make sure they follow them! So many new adventures coming their way! I love it! Boston did alot better than I thought he would... On Sunday night after Morgan gave the kids their Father's Blessings, we were talking about the kids going to school in the morning, and Boston got so sad! He just kept hugging Brinley. It was so cute! The next morning we all walked them into their classes, well Zach was fine with a wave, and a good bye, and down the hall he went. But we walked Brinley into her class and took some more pictures. Boston was so sad telling her good bye, I thought he was going to start crying, but he never did. Brinley was excited for her first day at school! It's going to take some work getting the kids to bed early, you would think that I would have started working on that already. We have a hard time going to bed at our house, we love to stay up late, so it is going to be a challenge! The kids were pretty tired last night though, as soon as they got in bed at 9:30 they were asleep within minutes! It is 9:10 in the morning right now and Boston is still sleeping! That is how I am able to make this post! :) Oh, I have to mention Brinley's backpack! We were at T.J. Max and she found it on the rack all by herself! She was so proud, and knew Boston would like it! We tried to see if they had any boy ones, but they didn't!
The picture of Boston looking in the window I thought was so cute. We went to say good bye to Zach but the door was closed and they had already started class. So, we just waved through the window. But Boston just stood there and kept looking at Zach and waving! It was like he just couldn't say good bye!
After the kids were home from school, we were eating ice cream, and I was trying to convince the kids that we needed to get back into reading everyday (which Zach is thrilled about) I got a phone call from my mom, and I could tell that something was wrong and that she had been crying. I asked her if everything was o.k. and she told me that my cousin Kassie and her little boy who is 8 were killed in a car accident yesterday morning. I couldn't believe what I was hearing! They live in St. George, and she was taking her boys to school, and overcorrected the car into the on coming traffic and hit head on with a dump truck. Her little boy was ejected out of the car about 20 ft. Her other little boy was life flighted to Primary Childrens and was in critical condition. Her little girl who is 2 was home with the dad when this happened. Sooo sad! My heart goes out to her family and extended family. It makes you appreciate life, and all the little things i like to complain about aren't worth complaining about anymore. You can watch the story on the news at www.kcsg.com

JuMp oN iT!
On Friday, Morgan's brother Jason and his little boy Porter came over to hang out with us! We took the kids to Jump On It! The kids had alot of fun! At first I was thinking "only and hour to jump?" But the kids got really tired, and HOT and barely made it to the end! Afterwards Zach had football practice at the High School, so we went and watched. The kids had a great time running around on the Turf field and playing with the football equipment! And I loved what the turf did to their little bare feet! Completely BLACK! It was a fun day, thanks for hangin out Jason. We just don't get to see you guys enough!

While we were there, Morgan, Jason, and Zach were playing tag... you would have thought Morgan and Jason were kids again! :) Jason was it and was chasing Morgan and well... he got his foot caught in between the springs! OUCH! Morgan was yelling at him to come help him get his foot out, but Jason was too busy laughing to do much helping! :) They got a good laugh afterwards! i think Jason just got a kick out of his "older" brother getting hurt!

FrIeNdS aNd FuN!
Last Thursday I let the kids invite their friends over to have one last day of fun before school started! They invited The Framptons over for the day, and as Ella called it, we had an "eat over" too! She is so cute! The kids had a fun day, they just all get along so well, and are the same ages, it is great!

Last SuMmEr Nights!
I can't even handle that there are only a few more days until the kids go back to school! No more late nights and sleeping in! Back to schedules, and more schedules! I am so not a schedule person that it drives me crazy when I have to be! Boston is already saying that he is going to be bored without Bubba and Sissy! He loves them so much! Our lives are going to change immensely in the next few days...

Zach is playing TaCkLe FoOtBaLl!!!
So, my little boy is playing Tackle Football! I don't know who is more excited...Me or Morgan!!! I love watching Zach play football! He has played flag for the last 3 years, and finally decided to put on the pads this year! The night they got their pads and helmet and everything you would have thought it was Christmas morning! Zach was so excited he couldn't contain himself! He had those things on every time I turned around. He would have slept in them if I would have let him! Now that he has been practicing for 3 weeks (5 times a week) I think he is getting enough use out of them! I am so proud of him, he is doing an awesome job, and has his heart in it! His dream is to play in the NFL, just keep working as hard as you are buddy, and it will come true! We can't wait for his first game on the 23rd of August! He is number 33 just like his dad! :) Morgan played football at Dixie State for 2 years after his mission. He is having alot of fun coaching Zach... his dream come true!
Brinley's first soccer game!
Brinley had her first soccer game last night! She has been so excited for it to start up again! Her dad took her and got her some new cleats and some PINK socks and soccer ribbons for her hair. She looks like a little Princess out on the field! She even made a goal! It was so fun to see her play, even though we know nothing about soccer! She just runs up and down the field and we think she is SO cute!
A fun weekend in St. George!
Last weekend I was able to go to St. George for a last little getaway before school starts! I went with my mom, my sister, and my nephew who is going to be a senior this year. On our way down we stopped to see my mom's sister and her husband who are serving a mission at Cove Fort. I had no idea this place even existed before they went there, but it was really interesting. It was nothing like I thought it would be. The picture of us all together is in front of the Fort, it is a big stone building that they built for shelter in the 1800's. Pres. Hinckley dedicated it back in 1994. It was fun to go see and learn about what went on there. We had SO much fun together, it was a great way to just enjoy the weekend! I felt like I had so much time on my hands without my kids! If you know me well, you know I don't leave my kids for much, so it was great to have some "adult" time! The kids stayed home with Morgan and had a great time! They love being with their daddy whenever they can! He even took them to 9:00 church by himself! I have no idea what they all looked like when they got there, but at least they made it!
We went and saw the play Les Miserables at Tuachan on Sat. night! It was my first time seeing it, and I really liked it. I had to have the story explained to me beforehand so I wasn't totally lost, but I was able to follow it easily and really enjoyed seeing my 2nd musical in my lifetime! We had fun going shopping, LOTS of eating (yummy food) and laughing while we were there. It was a short weekend but just right to come home and get into gear for school to start! Can you believe it?

BoWlInG!
Monday night after F.H.E. we let Zach choose what we got to do for our activity, and he chose bowling. So, we went to good 'ol Jack and Jill Lanes in American Fork. We walked in after just singing out of the Children's songbook mind you, and they were playing this rap music in the bowling alley. Zach turned to me and said, "Mom, this is some great music for Family Home Evening!" Gotta love it!
Boston gets StItChEs!
Saturday Morgan took the kids swimming when I wasn't feeling well, and Boston fell and cut his eye and had to get stitches!!! He was so brave, the kids went with him and Brinley kept taking pictures with Morgan's phone and sending them to me to give me an update! She is so cute! (I have trained her well!) After the doctor gave him a shot to numb him, he totally relaxed, and actually fell asleep while they were stitching him up! He gets to go get them out tomorrow, it looks really good.
Obsessive Reading!!!
Okay... who DIDN"T spend this last weekend reading this book??? All I can say is it was a good thing I came down with the stomach flu or I wouldn't have ever gotten it read as fast as I did! I know sounds crazy... My friend Allyson got me the book Fri. night and put it in my mailbox for me! (Thanks Ally!) The next morning I went and got it but still didn't feel good enough to read. I spent most of the day laying in bed, thank goodness my husband was home! I got to take a big long nap in the afternoon and when I woke up he was taking the kids swimming... and that's when it all began! :) I finished it last night... I really LOVED this book, but won't say anymore for those who haven't read yet.

The kids fishing!
Monday night we took the kids up American Fork Canyon to go fishing and roast marshmallows and hotdogs! We have so many things to do here where we live, it is just a matter of taking the time to do them! The kids thought it was so great, and it was a good way to spend the evening together. Zach said we couldn't leave until somebody caught a fish, and right when we said it was time to go because it was getting dark... he caught one! It was a baby one, and mine and Brinley's motherly instincts couldn't bear to see it die! So, we were yelling to let it go the whole time! It was bleeding pretty bad, but Morgan unhooked it and let it go and it started swimming! The kids were cheering that it was going to be o.k. You can tell we just fish for fun and don't actually like to eat them!
